B2B buyer guide

Bulk rice buying: a specification checklist for importers

Define rice type, preferred origin, broken-grain requirement, packing and container volume before requesting an offer.

Buyer guidance for preparing a container enquiry. Availability and commercial terms are confirmed separately for each offer.

Identify the rice you want

State the variety or commercial type, your preferred origin and whether you require parboiled or white rice. Include the required broken-grain percentage and any other specification important to the intended use. A product name alone may not describe your full requirement.

Describe packing and acceptance criteria

Record your preferred bag weight, bag material and marking or branding requirements. Share a specification sheet or reference sample details if available. Any tolerances, inspection arrangements or sample requirements should be discussed and recorded in the commercial documents.

Confirm the offer against your brief

Check that the proposed origin, specification, packing and container quantity match the enquiry. Ask the sales team to clarify missing or different details before accepting. A rice catalogue entry describes a product; availability, price and delivery terms belong to a separately confirmed commercial offer.
